Well the good news is that she is nice, concerned about her students grasping both new technique and new steps and she's quite a good dancer. I would say that her class is a slightly more advanced/intermediate level, a challenge but not terrifying. The room has mirrors and wood floors - a tad slippery but not too bad really.

The bad news is that she is teaching choreography. my nemisis. And she does it without providing written notes, and she doesn't have a full grasp of the terminology. She doesn't call out the terms while going through it either. She is not familiar with the local 'scene' and hasn't taken classes/workshops with anyone - has only had one instructor herself.

ALSO and this is the biggest problem as I see it - she doesn't do an adequate warm up before hand (I can do that in the hallway if I get there early enough, I suppose. But my L knee and my back were a little sore driving home - I was worried I'd hurt my back but it seems okay this morning.) and NO cool down. Great work out though. Really sweating for a bit.

I've given her my email address and told her to get in touch, she should probably perform at the October Hafla that my usual instructor is organizing.

I will go back, at least until my regular class starts up in September but I'm not sure that I can go to BOTH my Monday night with K, and this Thursday night with S. Especially if they are both choreography and different choreographies at that. I was hoping that S would be an improv class so that I could relax and enjoy dancing instead of struggling to learn a choreography.

as mentioned K is splitting her class into beginner and intermediate evels. So hopefully that works out. The time is better for me because I have a university class until 5:30 so I can easily make the 6:30 intermediate level where as making the 5:30 start class was going to be tight.

I have yoga tomorrow. I haven't been practicing the assigned 'homework' - uh oh.... Well the first two days my arms were to sore and then I just got busy. If I practice it too much today ... I won't be able to do it tomorrow...

SO lots of classes going on. I went over my fall schedule with DH last night. I will be at yoga, Saturday morning, K's class on Monday nights, I have school on Wednesday and if I add this dance class I will be gone Thursday night as well. (plus I'll be in London with SIL and the baby every other Wednesday daytime.) Another reason NOT to continue with the Thursday night class - missing dinner and dog walking 3 nights a week? overload.
