translation?

one of my students came to me with a song that she quite likes.

She can 'see' it as a choreography.

I assume it is safe because it's from an album titled... Egyptian Bellydance.

but I'd feel a lot better if I could get a translation of it. I'm a little worried because I came across something that translated ta'ala as He is Exalted.

Title of song...ta'ala oullak.

oh... and here is some  group of dancers doing choreography to it.

& here is  a second group. . - not bad actually.

I'd do it differently but... hey...

Have you explained the importance of knowing the translatons to Arabic songs to her? Those translations can change the cheoreography of a song from one thing to quite another.
Om Kalthoum is a good example of this.

Did I not watch the clip for long enough? I didn't hear any lyrics.

no lyrics in 'my' version either. I just want to double check the translation of even the title...

I know I've given that talk to my students before - looks like I may need to remind her...

either that or she was fishing to see if I'd do her homework for her....
