insanely busy weekend

Friday night gig - was FABULOUS.  except for a problem I had with my egyptian style fitted skirt.  It fit like a glove & looked fabulous.  But there were a lot of children at the party and apparently after I would drop down to entertain the little ones and then stand back up... my underwear would rise up above the top of the skirt.  By the time I finished my set - there was a good portion of my thong visible ABOVE the back of my skirt.  Fortunately the were nude but... still - I don't want that to happen again.

So now I have to figure out ... how to prevent that from occurring.
a) mom's suggestion - don't wear any underwear.
b) sew underwear into the costume?  but then how would I wash them?
c) sew snaps into the costume to hold the underwear in place
d) at some point someone removed the elastic from the skirt top - If I put it back in - I run the risk of damaging the costume and giving myself muffin top AND I don't even know if it will solve the underwear problem.
e) some extremely clever option you are going to give me in the comments?

and option a - NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!

on Saturday - we drove 2 hours up to St. Thomas and bought an old utility trailer to convert into the parade trailer I need.  I hate to spend the money but I'm hoping I can look at it as an investment and recoup the money when I get out of the parade business.  The students like it and it is fun.  but a hell of a lot of work & expense.  but it is good to be a VISUAL part of the local community and it does stop people from thinking that bellydancers as strippers/inappropriate  - after all I have CHILDREN ON MY FLOAT!

Yesterday I took my mother and her friend to see a local musical theatre production of 9 to 5.  It was fabulous.  Wonderful voices.  I didn't care for the main character that played the roll of Violet.  It surprised me how much the roll of Dolly Parton, Doralee had been minimized in the play.  - but it was still pretty fantastic.

okay - too bad it is Monday and I have to go back to work.  in the rain.  ugh.  nothing like delivering mail in the rain.
