bah humbug
J, my spouse has been on vacation from work this week.
We have spent most of his time off doing chores around the house. Changing the outdoor flood lights for instance - that was a challenge. Next time I think I am going to hire someone to do that. I never want to climb a ladder that high again.
J is done all his xmas shopping for his half of the family. Those gifts will be shipped off tomorrow.
I have really really come to hate xmas. This year is especially bad.
In an effort to cheer me up and induce some xmas spirit we went to see the new Tim Allen movie. The movie was good - but who would have thought there would be so many kids in the theater on a WEDNESDAY NIGHT???? First we picked seats and this family came and sat two rows in front of us... and the kids started whining right away. Then another batch comes in and sits behind us. We decide to get up and change seats. We walk all the way up to the very back row, and wouldn't you know it... The movie is just starting and in walk two mothers with 4 or 5 kids between them... and where do you think they sit... yup. All the way to the top and right in front of us. Took them a good 5 minutes to get settled. "so and so wont push down" "where's my drink" etc. etc. At least they were mostly quiet after that... but sheesh, the theatre was 95% empty. Did they have to sit directly in front of us??? I thought we'd avoid the kids by going on a weeknight but I guess I was wrong. *sigh*
The movie wasn't bad, although... did the main story have to revolve around a pregnant and emotional Mrs. Claus?
