keep in mind that I have had 3 pyrs and all three have behaved differently.

#1 - didn't like them but tolerated them - I was able to bath her on my own. We just did it and got it done with.
#2 - hates them and fights me every step of the way. She will get into the bathtub - but spends the entire time trying to jump back out. I desperately need assistance when it comes to giving her a bath.
#3 - is my rescue. He hates water. Hates rain, hates puddles. Won't drink out of anything larger than a medium sized bowl. I had a little kiddie pool in the back yard for a time and he was terrified of it. I have no idea what has scared him so badly. I fight him to get into the tub - but once he's in... he just wants it done - so he co-operates more or less.

So- I couldn't really say how a pyr is supposed to behave when it comes to baths. They don't need them very often, once maybe twice a yr. The natural oils in their coats keep them clean and you can just sprinkle them with baby powder or corn starch or whatever while you are brushing them if you want to sweeten their coats a little.
