I hate people like that! That have to ask their friends if they can breathe, and can't bear to do anything without them. I mean, doing things together is fun, but the fact that you can't do something on your own without them present is a. childish (I haven't been like that since I was 14) and b. makes you look like a sheep - sorry! Do what YOU want to do.
Furthermore, I often find such people are less likely to integrate with the people around them and also more likely to bitch about the people around them because they keep their distance and will always have their friend to back them up. And they're most likely to drop out.
I do everything on my own - not purposefully, but I just don't see why I need accompaniment. If someone wants to join, fine - but sometimes I'd rather not have them with me. They expect you to drop out of it when they do, either because it's not fun for them or they're no good at it or can't be bothered, so you're expected to stop too. If you continue it's like some kind of betrayal. I mean, in the end no one is identical so you'll end up holding yourself and/or other people back if you only ever do the same things.
