I'm still sick, or sick again. I'm not sure which. Seems like I've had a sore throat, stuffy head, sneezing and cough etc etc for months.
but in reality it started mid cruise and lasted one week, then I was fine for a week and now it is back again. It just feels like forever.
My teacher went to the Rachel Brice workshop in Toronto over the weeked. (and the hafla). I am so jealous. Although I never would even dream to sign up for it myself. There is no way I could even be in the same room with her. I just don't have any where near enough skill, confidence - whatever. I'd probably spend the whole time with my mouth agape, staring at her in stunned admiration.
I still have my own very first workshop this weekend in Sarnia to be nervous enough about. I hope I feel better by then.

Belly dancing is great! It's good on so many levels. My friend is taking it, but I don't know who she is taking it through.
Sorry you got sick during your cruise. That really stinks. I find whenever I get sick, I realize I take breathing normally for granted. So I try to remind myself to appreciate it when I'm well. I hope you get better soon.

breathing, even feeling neutral if not good/healthy is sometimes we definitely take it for granted.
and yes indeed, this is my belly dance journal primarily... although since it also gives my location I used it for my Windsor groups also. Helps me keep my online communities and friends straightened out. That and my 'multiple personality disorder'
I noticed you commented on one of theferrett's postings recently? So I see we have other things in common too.
I'd be interested to hear who your friend studies with, always nice to get another perspective on another teacher. Although I'm not always complimentary in my journal about my teachers I do think they have all been great, just venting stuff. My frustration with them is more frustration with myself usually..
cheers - see you around.
dear in headlights!
and i missed the first half of the show which i was truely bummed about. i'm going to order the video.
Re: deer in headlights!
I did enjoy the performance tremendously. I saw you! your troup was great!
All (or Most) of the performances were wonderful and even the ones that were less than, well I admire them for getting up on stage.
Cassandra's was AWESOME.
Today (I only stayed until the lunch break...) was great. She did some veil work to warm up, then some zills then a bunch of hip drills and layering movements, combining the shimmy with the hip circle, fig 8, maya. Truthfully today is the workshop that best suited me.
When I left Cassandra was going to work through lunch with anyone who wanted to go through yesterday's choreography.
I'm sorry that I left when I did, but I was just wiped out. Tired from the day before, didn't sleep well, my room had a defective alarm clock - it went off at 5am, and 8 and 10 to 9, and 5 after 9 and god knows it's probably still going off.... AND as terrible as this is... I have an essay due in my university class tomorrow, still only in second draft and I have to finish it.
I've come home, had a nap and a shower and I'm going to push through until I get a version I can email to my proof reader, who can zip it back to me, (hopefully in time to make corrections before class.) I hate to hand it in late.
It does give me a better idea of what to look for in my next workshop though, if I go to a next workshop....I'm not sure that my skill set is up to it. Although if they were all like today.... that would be ... phenominal.
Cheers.

Re: deer in headlights!
there are several workshops coming up. jasmin jahal is going to be in grand rapids on the 21st and zahra zuhair is going to be in south bend, indiana on the 28th (ruby jazayre's show) i'll probably miss bozenka : [.
i'm glad you liked us! we had a lot of fun.
i felt bad for a couple of performers who danced great but seemed to have some wardrobe malfunctions. it happens. it almost happened to us right before we went on!
cassandra was definitely a study in less is more when she is dancing. i was wowed. do you mind if i add you to my friends list?
Re: deer in headlights!
*smile* I added you to my friends list last night, although I probably should have asked first...
are you going to post a full review of Cassandra's workshop?
