Directions...
I just laid out the fabric -
-decided on a halfway point for the shoulders.
-cut it up the front center so that it would open.
-used a oval shaped plate of about the right size for the neck opening.
-sewed a piece of fabric in at the neck, as a facing, and flipped it (it would be much easier just to edge the neck opening with bias tape)
-fold over and sew up the front edges
-sewed up the side seams.
-sewed two snaps in to keep it closed (one at bust, one at about the waist)

-uses about 2.5 yards total length, depending on your height (I'm 5'6") and for mine it's about 34 inches wide (remember this will be doubled when you join front to back) But you could just use whatever the width of the fabric is to make it easier.

I just did snaps in the front but you could do a belt or button or frogs or whatever. You could do a v-neck too instead of mine which is more of a rounded neck. I probably wouldn't do a belt because then I probably would lose the belt or trip on it.
