Gregor's Crossing Ren Faire.
Jun. 1st, 2008 07:47 pmtoday we drove to Chatham for the Gregor's Crossing Ren Faire. I was really too tired but DH wanted to go and since he was so nice about driving me to the Kami workshop off we went.
It's still a really small event. Limited vendors although some good ones. Very limited food - only TWO vendors and meh... undercooked sausage - blah ( I don't like sausage dogs when they are well cooked) the chicken quesadilla was much better. Too bad I skipped lunch because I thought we'd be eating tons of junk at the fair.
The shows were all right. J enjoyed the jousting although I should have brought a blanket to sit on (bleachers full - we ended up sitting on the grass)
The weather was very cold. brrr. I really wish I'd worn a sweater. J and I were thinking it would be as hot as yesterday and although we wore long sleeves to prevent sunburn - I was eyeing the cloaks for sale with a view to keeping warm. Lots of people/staff walking around with very bad sunburns from the previous days events.
I understand about not wanting to get sunblock on your embroidered bodice and all but... is the trade off really worth it? I also expected to see parasols for sale but... didn't. (I didn't need one I just wanted one for myself.)
Good, but ... it'll get better. right?
