too late to back out

Went to view the location on Saturday. It is outside.
Doesn't that sound great. Outside in June. could be worse. It could be August. ugh.
It is in a pavillion, so there will be some shade- but still. I really don't think the wings are going to work. And I am definitely going to have to whip up an alternate costume - that purple velvet and satin... OMG too hot for out doors.. My boss really wants the wings...so... weather permitting... as in ... the wind isn't giving me grief... I do wings. If not... I dance without them. Also audience on all 4 sides. It is a boxing ring after all.
We're not doing the choreography but we are doing the line dance/belly hustle. Repetative and it can be done to all four faces. It will work well I think. I will do a solo. First 2 minutes with wings.... last 3 without wings.
Costume: I have white harem pants done which would mean sewing some gold coins onto a white sports bra or tank top and going with that.... easy fix. I'm a little worried the white pants are a tad sheer and not terribly breathable.
I went to the fabric store yest/Sunday. for some breathe able fabric in a shade that goes with gold. Black maybe. I'd rather avoid black if I'm going to be standing outside for any length of time - of course I could leave the outer sides open to let the air circulate....
I ended up purchasing a bronze shade with gold threading and little clear sequins dotted here and there. I whipped up a pair of pants last night.
I hate them. hate the feel of the fabric. hate the colour.
So now what ??

I'm debating an alternate fabric that I have on hand. AND completing this set later with a view towards selling it. 'cause I doubt I would ever wear it.
Yes it is breathable. I left side vents in the pants for extra air should it be needed... but just uck. Besides hating everything about them... I just dislike the look - too poofy. ... even taking them in.... just wouldn't improve them enough.
I don't know what to do about it.
I haven't even started the top - I was planning a little half vest thing ... I'd have to line it with something... I just couldn't stand the fabric next to my skin. the backing on the embroidery feels like little prickles everywhere. And the colour makes me look like the underbelly of a dead fish.
