somehow I ended up with a referrence to this story today

http://www.bartleby.com/109/2.html

the question is ... did you pay too much for your whistle?

but really... shouldn't you say... he thought it was an excellent price until someone criticized his choice? and now he is regretting what he actually was very happy with until then?

hmmmmmmm?

I HATE writing essays.

I really really hate it.

this one sucks even more because

a) the material is boring in the extreme.
b) the stuff is confusing as all heck
c) I don't really care about any of it.
d) I view the Bible as a work of fiction {whoops - let that cat out of the bag}

essentially the essay is ... what do these 4 people say about the dates for the Exodus/Conquest. What are their arguments/conclusions.

Who fricken cares.

does it really really matter if B says it was 1500 BCE, because he's been doing digs around Israel and all the old cities show signs of an attacking force in 1500BCE -- H says it was 1200BCE and that he thinks B must have been sniffing glue when when he wrote his article. While J thinks that 1500 is correct because the bible says so and N thinks the bible might as well be a bedtime fairytale because everyone in those days understood that you just inserted stuff to make it a better story.

*deep sigh*
