washing machine
Jan. 22nd, 2009 02:43 pmMy poor washing machine... may it rest in pieces be recycled into new & productive components. Do not let is rust in a landfill but instead be repurposed & reincarnated to go on to live a happy life in whatever new plane of existence there is for old washing machines. It was a good washing machine & served us well.
Today hubby & I hauled the old washing machine UP the stairs & out to the truck. We debated between leaving it at the end of the drive way & hoping that someone would take it, hauling it to the scrap metal dealer ourselves or taking it to the Solid Waste Authority (dump). We ended up taking it to the scrap dealer ourselves... and netted $21.
Not bad. And certainly worth the gas money, but maybe not the labour involved.
We were tempted to just leave it at the end of the driveway but with the crappy weather who knows how long it could have sat there, and once we had it out of the basement..... might as well back the truck up to the steps & load it up.
I was surprised at the profit. But it was a really heavy machine. (and we took the concrete block out of the bottom AND the extra plastic tub/softener dispenser & left those at home)
