F*CKING TICKS.

I know I've mentioned that I hate ticks.

I found one crawling on my arm this morning. at 5:45 am.  while I was trying to get another 30 minutes - 1 hr  of sleep.

I really don't know where it came from BECAUSE we haven't walked the dogs anywhere other than the neighbourhood for weeks - and ticks generally prefer tall grass areas.

It's going to be a long summer.

skin cancer

skin cancer is a pet issue of mine.

yes I used to be one of those people that LOVED summer.  I LOVED having a tan.  I spent tons of time in the sun every chance I got.

then I started to burn? wtf?

and in my mid 20's found out that skin cancer is not something old people got after a LIFETIME of exposure. Skin cancer is no joke.

it drives me crazy that so many people think pale is unhealthy.

yes I am ready for the facebook fallout from my post today.

"Skin cancer is the most common cancer in Canada. BE SUN SMART! shade, sunscreen, hats. Surgery scars aren't worth the trade for that nice "unhealthy" tan."


guess we'll see.  I have this discussion with people EVERY YEAR.  Sometimes many many times.

 

serger repair FAIL

.... serger repair FAIL

alas - the new part arrived but... although I could install the new part - and I can SEE what the problem is now... I cannot fix it.

So...

I will take it to the serger repair place in the am.  If they can do it ASAP.  awesome.

If not................

I am... I don't know... looking for a new serger maybe. 

or... I'll put it on the back burner and maybe I'll look at fixing it in a few months.  I sewed for years WITHOUT a serger - I can get along without it again.  It's just serging seams looks more professional and nicer.
