and I promised to try.... to find songs that were not entirely bellydance...

I'm not going to go as far as she did and post videos...

It was difficult.... especially so because my ipod was being used by a student at the time & J was on my main computer and I was sitting on his laptop trying to remember titles of songs without luck


So here I am - dance class is over and I can actually consult my alphabetical list.  G is NOT an easy letter for music...

Girls on Film - Duran Duran.  one of the BEST songs EVER.
Genie in a Bottle - Christina Aguilera  - I listened to this song a lot at one time - I haven't listened to it in ages however........ I probably wouldn't list it at all if I wasn't looking for - G titled songs that may have actually gotten airplay or something my friends list would be familiar with...
Girl Panic - Also by Duran Duran - off their NEW album.  This is one of the best songs off this album actually.
Gravity - The Dresden Dolls - also love this song.  I would love to have actually done a choreography to it but ... I looked up the lyrics and it's actually pretty depressing - but I still love the song - so I play it just for me.
Get this party Started by Pink.  I used to use this song for party gigs when I go to someone's home to teach a lesson... The people are usually familiar with it and it gets their attention.

If I was going to add bellydance songs
I'd keep Girls on Film, Gravity & Girl Panic and add....
Gypsy Queens by Balkan Beat Box AND Grandstand by Beats Antique.  Grandstand might be the next class choreography.
