the future of Daisy Mae.......
May. 1st, 2012 09:59 amAdoption under way.
We have been approved to adopt Daisy Mae - I'm not sure how much I've told but here is Daisy Mae's story.
She is an 8 yr old Gr Pyr female, fixed & up to date on shots. She is the product of a broken home. There is a couple who are divorcing. They have 5 dogs & they are taking 2 each. The woman dropped Daisy off at a shelter and pretty much didn't care what happened to her.
She has been entirely shaved down due to coat matting is the theory - as you should NEVER ever shave a double coated breed like a Gr Pyr.
She gets along well with other dogs. We think she will be a good companion for Mason- and because she is used to a multi dog household I don't think she will object to us getting a puppy in the future.
We are trying to arrange to pick her up asap. but having problems with the scheduling.
~~~~~~~NEWSFLASH~~~~~~~~~~they are getting her from the shelter today & we are picking her up SATURDAY!
Jeff & I are shooting around the name - trying to decide if she is going to stay a Daisy Mae or not. I'm leaning toward Phaedra (the name of my newly finished choreography - the one with the veils
sacramentalist ) because Phaedra has a sad story & so does Daisy May - but it's still a pretty name.
It kind of depends how she feels when I meet her & if she's acts like a Daisy Mae or not.
I need the distraction more than anything else. I'm still mourning for Pandora and although Daisy Mae won't be a replacement in any way she will help my heart heal - just a little - while I get through this.
------------
in other news - show is over - getting ready for the next show.
Two more this month. 18th & 26th. 18th will be fun but tough. 26th will be .......meh. but I'll get to watch a lot of AWESOME dancers.
- okay I got to get this show on the road. I have a TON of stuff to get done today.
