pain and productivity
Nov. 3rd, 2013 10:07 pm two shows this weekend.
a pretty fabulous event Saturday night with my troupe.
and a paying gig today.
unfortunately I was in so much pain in the weeks leading up to the show that I did not rehearse nearly enough and made some errors in the choreography that I really should not have been making.
I finally caved and have a doctors appointment tomorrow to see what can be done.
I'm having a lot of foot/heel pain. To the point that I either have to stop walking Marcus (not going to happen) OR stop teaching - or - cut back on the number of classes at the very least. The temporary insoles provide a small measure of relief but not enough to make it through dance classes.
I also have a weekend convention of dance classes coming up. I've cancelled my classes for the week in an effort to rest & recover before the weekend.
I've heard that some people improve with custom orthotics and some people don't - I can't teach in shoes so that won't help me there anyway. Icing my feet seems to help somewhat - but I'm wondering and hoping that I won't be forced to give up dancing entirely. I've also been doing exercises for plantar fasciitis because I figure it can't hurt even if I am doing self diagnosis. Here's hoping the doctor's appointment tomorrow is helpful.
