I really hate fireworks, too. They're loud, they kill people and destroy property, and they're a big waste of money. I hate that my birthday is the day after the 4th of July. When I was a kid, my parents tried to be all, "Oh hey, you get to enjoy these fireworks as part of your birthday celebration!" I wanted to part of it. They were just a stupid, obnoxious ritual that made waiting for my birthday to come just that much more unpleasant.
