(no subject)

The first thing I do when I get home every day is check my email, then LJ, then ... FML, then maybe Facebook.

What I need to do right now is clean my messy house.  I let everything get away from me while I focused on the performance Saturday.  Fortunately - I have tonight off from teaching.  Good thing because - no idea what I want to teach the advanced class this session.

And speaking of Facebook - my little bellydancers, did you see those awesome & beautiful Hanan bra & belt sets for $300 on Dahlal.  *sigh*  I know that if I make my costumes myself they actually fit and look fantastic but... one day I'd like to plunk down the money for a custom set.

Dude, my sleep tech for the overnight study said his wife is a bellydancer and she recently had over $3000 worth of costuming stolen. She's not even a teacher or professional performer! It's scary how fast the $$$ can rack up with those pre-made sets!

Speaking of costuming, do you ever wear dresses? Or lavender?

My costume for this past performance was supposed to be lilac & black. BUT - the lilac fabric was complete crap so it got scrapped and I had to start over.

Would I wear lavender - absolutely but don't have one yet. It's in the back of my mind to make one though.

Do I wear dresses - I don't have any at the moment - but I've got fabric intended as dresses - I just ran out of time. (I think the would be perfect for my high school appearances.

I heard Aziza just had a suitcase with two costumes stolen recently. And I was at a workshop a few years back where someone else had their suitcase(with costumes) stolen from their vehicle also. :(
Costumes can cost a bundle - another good reason to make your own. Yeah they still cost in terms of time & materials but still $3000. Not in this lifetime.

You know what I don't like about dresses? Most of the ones I see have the slits up the sides. And I cannot absolutely cannot show my legs. I always have at least one massive bruise on my knee, shin or calf and at the moment - I have TWO.

I gotta wear pants, or at least a skirt with no slit, nothing showing.
