(no subject)

so K really enjoyed the Suhalia workshop.

She tried to explain the glute squeezes without using the thigh muscle but I can't seem to isolate it. Either I end up with a keegle or I can feel it in my thigh. Whatever. Maybe I'll get it one day but I'm still struggling.

I'm getting anxious about Saturday both for the the fire/balancing workshop and will be talking to yoga about that teaching she wants me to do in January.

I need to find practice space for R and I so that we can keep in practice for that duet for the end of January. I'll have to see when she is available and go to her probably. As soon as I finish this paper I can worry about that.

I once sat in a class with an instructor that was trying to teach us that. She had us sit on the floor with our legs spread open. And then had us (try)to do glute squeezes. It was a much better way to learn how to isolate each side and try to keep it out of our thighs.... Dunno if that helps.

no- I can still feel the thigh tensing with it.

I've tried it sitting on the floor, sitting in a chair, feet flexed, feet relaxed - legs farther apart, legs closer together - she had me try all the possibilities. Either I'm supremely aware of the thigh muscle or ??

Well...hmm have you tried laying down? I suppose you may just be very self aware... I suspect that some of the muscles surrounding the glutes will respond a bit as well...due to the displacement caused by the muscle movement... I dunno. I suppose just do it the best way you can. Maby your glutes arent quite strong enough to do isolations on their own yet...
