Furious!
alright fine. you all know how much i hate typing on this damn laptop. or maybe you don't but I'm at the point where I'm going to plunk money down on a new computer.
so I select my sister's #1 choice from tiger direct AND they want me to pay $40 for shipping! because the thing supposedly weighs 30 lbs! and all the FREE SHIPPING NOW signs are only on orders less than 20 lbs.
so I go to her second choice AND I can order it from clear across the country and pay $20 for shipping AND no provincial sales tax because it is in another province. (but I still have to pay GST)
I'm pissed. and conflicted.
I didn't mind paying sales tax but F*CK this if you think I am paying $40 for shipping! AND an additional $70 for sales tax
on the additional anger charts. I've been working on the new costume... the blue fringe. and I had the bra covered to the point where I was going to start adding the embellishments. come to find out that the older blue sparkle fabric that I used to cover the bra.... is a different blue than the new blue sparkle fabric that I bought to make the matching skirt & pants. SCRAPPED the bra and started over. No wonder none of the embellishments looked quite right when I was trying to arrange them in place.

That sucks with the costume. I bet it'll still be super pretty and you'll forget the hassle because it's so pretty it's worth it! :)

the long story on the blue sparkle fabric
a story of mixed blue....
I've bee envisioning a blue costume for some time. a few weeks ago I bought the beaded fringe on ebay and took it with me too the store. bought fabric & assorted beeds/sequines etc to coordinate. took it home & threw the fabric in the wash. went upstairs to start the bra & belt base. while searching through my large fabric stash for the base fabric.... I found a yard of blue sparkle fabric omg! where did that come from? Cue sounds of delight. I could make the bra and belt and then have enough for BOTH pants AND a skirt to match... except... we know how the ending turns out...
I wasn't really happy with the bra shape so starting over isn't as completely terrible as it sounds.
