rehearsal woes.

My sword hates me.

My skirt wants to trip me.

The top that I decided on - ugh.  Hate.   Too hot and the sleeves are too poofy.

Am now trying the other top that I made.  ... it might work out.  but it is only half finished.  So that means if I do like it then I'll have to finish it up ASAP.

see now if I had finished the top on Monday/Tuesday as planned ...

because - seriously when I was rehearsing earlier this week the sword was my bestest friend ever and loved me ever so much.

Now I just need to convince it to love me again.

well you will be happy to know that
-I finished sewing the second top.
-put enough hairspray in my hair that my sword no long feels the need to slide around
-and I figured out a way to deal with that sneaky skirt.

Hopefully the performance is STELLAR tomorrow night.

well with any luck...I shall have the video & put it up on youtube. (I ordered a copy - lets just see how fast they are at editting & delivery)

I didn't drop the sword. It stayed firmly on my head. People liked it. I still can't tell if they are being polite or they mean it but... surely they can't all be lying. Plus sword is AMAZING. It's the star of that piece anyway.

Pretty awesome evening all in all. With the exception of this other dancer using the same song that I did last year - she said it wasn't the same song but... it was - just the extended (slightly different) I've been dancing that song for more than a year - taught it to ... 3-4 groups now. The thing is... I should have kept my mouth shut & not said anything - just thunk it - ya'know?

That and a few dancers that I wanted to smack for inappropriate costumes. Seriously - I know it's bellydance but wear some bloomers with that skirt. 100% see through. :(
