Adventures in Dishwashing.

I think the dishwasher is borked.

I'm not certain you see because the problem is not is the dishwasher cleaning the dishes ...the problem is that the dishwasher is STUCK SHUT.  with a full load of clean dishes inside.

I can't figure out how to get the dang thing open because all the screws are concealed.  - on the inside of course.

So... if I do have to take a crowbar to the thing to get it open - it's 11 yrs old and hey - maybe we should replace it...

next problem
stainless or white.

stainless steel is the current trend - but how long will that be current - how long before it is as dated as avocado green or harvest gold?
Not to mention if I have to pry the dang dishwasher out I'll likely be ripping the wood that the current dishwasher is screwed into - which could create an even BIGGER problem.

What color are your other appliances? I think I'd go more with matching than trendy, unless you're looking at getting everything new!

(and I know you didn't ask, but there was a Bosch dishwasher in our house when we moved in and it is awesomely quiet - can barely hear the thing running! I'd recommend that as a brand, for sure)

The rest of my kitchen appliances are white, and while I love my fridge... the stove - not so much. And then we'd need to do the range hood as well.

If we were planning to sell - I'd go stainless - for the trendy look. For myself I'd prefer the white.

I don't think white ever really goes out of fashion. Less trendy than stainless or avocado but... always the neutral choice.

guess we'll go with white again.
