You got to spend Xmas with family? And you still feel like boycotting it? Heh. That makes me feel a lot better. We had two family thingies this year, neither of which was actually on Xmas day. (My immediate family scatters and some of them don't like each other so it's difficult to get everyone together on the same day.) I'm glad it's over, too. Mostly because Christmas Day itself kinda SUCKED from a traditional perspective.
I agree. It's difficult to satisfy everyone when they have different food tastes and sensitivities (although mine are the most difficult). I think I would've whacked the kids into submission no matter what. No tolerance for brats in my home.
Next year I'm either going to guilt everyone months beforehand into coming to my house or else hubby and I are LEAVING and traveling during the holidays. I never want to endure another crappy@ss holiday season like this year, ever again!
