Oct. 19th, 2004 09:38 amI've posted my question to the bellydancing community and hopefully I get an answer.
Last night the instructor finally had the details for the hafla for this friday, I know it's been hard because she's missed the last two weeks with us.
I asked her if the gathering was confined to dancers only or would it be a mixed group. She said - oh no - it would be a mixed group... so I told her my husband would love to go and bought two tickets. He had been saying how much he would like to go when I first brought it up. When I went to put our names on the sign-up list... his is the only male name. If it had been women only ... she would have said something, right? I said the ticket was for my HUSBAND.
Now I'm worried that he's going to be the only guy there, and both he will be uncomfortable and make the other women uncomfortable. To anyone else that asked this question I'd just answer; "Go, be bold, be brave and have a great time..." the problem is he's horrendously shy and I'm afraid it is just going to cut the evening very short for me.
Wonder if my sister and her boyfriend would be able to join us... not likely as I'm sure she has the kids and then - sitter arrangements etc etc.
None of the other students from MY class are planning to attend - so mostly it will be made up of students from another instructor plus the other class that my instructor teaches... I'll only be able to join in on the improvised pieces because of it ... but that doesn't bother me.
I should stop worrying about it. Relax and have fun.
