the drum solo...

so in my dance class we are currently learning a drum solo choreography.

I don't like it.  I didn't like it when the instructor showed it to us a few months ago and asked if we wanted to learn it in the fall.  I was the only dissenting vote.

I'm not sure what it is that I don't like about it.  If it's the bouncing up and down thing (that's hard on my knees), the song itself  or just my general dislike of choreography.   I'm not new to drum solos but.... this is the first time I've set out to deliberately learn one.

So... I've spent a half an hour or so watching various drum solos on YouTube... and I haven't seen one that makes me say WOW - I have to learn that...

Tell me - what am I missing?   So far... I'm just not that impressed.  Are drum solos boring? or is it just me?   I think it's just me.

got  a link that will help me change my mind???? post it here.

I like drum solos, but the dancer has to be really good at it, and (usually) keep it short to sustain the interest.

I'll find something for ya. :) Just gimme some time ....

After the first two and a half minutes (the ensemble dance), there's a long drum solo. Hope you like! :)

I'm a bit bored with them, but only because I went to about 4 classes ina row where our class dance was a drum solo and I wanted to use some kind of prop just for a change of pace.

I did go to a drum solo workshop that I really enjoyed. She ended with a cartwheel which I couldn't end up doing because it started the opposite direction of how I am used to doing them.
