tack on to the sewing post.

I also went through some of my boxes of fabric (3 rubbermaids bins & 1 bankers box  believe it or not...)  and found way too much green cotton fabric.  I hate green - (got it for free)  so I'm planning to experiment and make a 10 yard - 3 tiered skirt.  If it works I may try it with fabric I actually paid for.   Don't know what I'll do with it after - sell it, give it away - who knows. As much as I'd like to play with one of those big gypsy skirts I'd never wear it - (I hate green, green hates me.)  But that's way down on the sewing list.

And my SIL needs me to shorten some curtains for her.  Better get cracking on my own stuff.

Hey! Hey! Hey! I *love* green and green &hearts me! I'll totally take it! I'll pay for it! As long as I don't have to sew it!

I'll keep you in mind. - how tall are you? I'm about 5'6" but I have short legs. Would a 36" length work for you? I could do shorter/longer.

I just want to see if the design works.

OMG green is my FAVORITE color. Don't worry, I hate purple LOL we are opposites.

You can make the skirt and post pics on LJ. Do you have a paypal account? Set up an account and you can sell them on LJ. I'd be interested in a big gypsy skirt.

I could but... not really interested in getting into the sewing for $$ deal. I had someone ask me before to sew her a pair of harem pants. But she wasn't willing to pay my labour cost.

Sewing is very labour intensive and unless you are sewing for yourself - not really cost effective. And despite the fact that I need money- I'm not willing to undervalue my labour.

Sewing for my friends ... on the other hand... don't mind a bit. :)

It's funny - when I was looking for a pattern for the tiered skirt. One of the sites said: "Don't bother to sew it yourself. Too much time, energy and labour involved. Just buy one."

Oh yeah, I totally understand. Alphacomagirl is making my costumes and she is a close friend and I'm paying her labor. Cheap labor, but I'm still paying her. I just give her 20 bucks here and there for her time and I buy all the materials.
