my local video store closed/went bankrupt...
tragedy - I know.
but it means I'm getting my DVD's from the library. (because the other local video store is too far to walk - what can I say? we like to walk to the video store to rent/return the movies - we're out walking the dogs nightly anyway)
Getting my DVD's from the library however means that I have to 'order' them in. First I have to search the library catalogue, by interweb, to see if they have the movie, then request it, they call me when it comes in. My local branch keeps a few titles on hand but... it seems that most of the good ones are either at head office, or other branches. It is slightly inconvenient because you either need to know the title of a movie to search for it or have some sort of search criteria to list movies... as in DVD 2007 ... you can't search category or just browse.
Which is why I currently have... My Super Ex-Girlfriend(watched halfway- meh), Hairspray (to watch when I go see my mother), and Die Hard 3. Die Hard 3 is actually much better than I was expecting - we will probably be watching the rest of it tonight. The Brad Pitt movie about Jesse James really stunk. No Reservations with Catherine Zeta Jones was pretty good.
Despite the inconvenience of having to order the movies in, I like it because... they are free. yeah.
so... suggest movies. pls k' thx.

Date: 2008-08-28 02:22 am (UTC)Well, the sci-fi flick Sunshine wasn't too bad. And I liked P.S. I Love You (it's got Gerard Butler, heh heh ;)). I said earlier that The Last King of Scotland and Cloverfield were both good.
Have fun. :)
