computer woes and other drama

so... my  ubuntu computer ... is where all my business bookkeeping is stored.  Last April/May or so it decided that sound was no longer necessary.  No problem - I can function without sound.  Then shortly after that it decided it didn't want to have input/export capabilities - no disc, no flash drive... I could still use it to email stuff out - and import stuff that way so I kept plodding along, as long as it had internet access I was willing to put up with its little foibles - I wasn't using it for much anyway.  This week the monitor has decided to quit. 

That's enough of that! 

I'm taking it over to my sister later - if she can get my data out that would be a real plus but I think it may be time to junk the thing.  Now that Jhas his laptop I don't have to share the main anymore so if I can get my bookkeeping data onto this unit I *should* be all set.

which leads me to the problems with THIS unit.

sound, internet, functioning mostly okay.  but at 6 pm it starts slowing down, by 10pm you might as well be wearing mittens to type because it doesn't process commands, or even recognize one letter of type per second.  & Not just the internet but everything! even if I disconnect from the internet is seems slow and sluggish.  If I shut it off and restart it works a little better.  All the virus scans are clear...

In the morning... zippie di do dah.  raring to go, off to the races........

any ideas what might be causing this?

and last night - my keyboard somehow ended up disconnected.   -------interesting.

want to play a game?

While playing word games sacramentalist last night I came up with an interesting idea for a word game -

BUT - I'm going to be out all day today! so I can't play.... *pout* .... So look for it next week?

I have so many things I WANT to do today... including play my word game but... .... gotta run....

for MY birthday....

since... as much as I'd like one - I can't get a new plaything boy toy boyfriend for my birthday... (in April!)

I thought I might get a costume.  then I decided... no. I should just make it.  It would turn out better AND it would fit AND be cheaper.  I've just bought some beaded fringe on ebay and hope it will be here in a week.  I'll let you know when it gets here.

Although... if you know this guy or  this guy...  or  hugh jackman or...

send 'em over....I promise I won't hurt him. much.
