sorrow in a performance piece
Mar. 29th, 2010 06:14 pm thers's this song and .... it has been haunting me.
I hear it in my head even when there is other music playing. It's drowning out other songs.
I can see and feel the movements that should be there when it plays.
The problem is it is so darn sad.
If I spend time working out a choreography to it - will I ever be able to use it in performance?
I try not to spend time on songs that I can't really use. I don't have enough free time for that plus I need at least one or two new pieces for upcoming shows....
It is possible I will be able to use it for the Humane Society Benefit. ... after all if anyone knows pain and heartbreak it is the Humane Society.... or for that matter anyone who has ever loved/lost a beloved pet. But then maybe ... once I've worked through it I can forget about it or turn it to a more joyful conclusion? or joyful songs...
so... what are your thoughts on sorrow in performance. Normally I wouldn't do this but... this song owns me now. I'm going to have to do something with it even if it is just for me and me alone.
