For some reason I've been remembering the I Dream of Jeannie TV show,

And since I'm in the mid costume construction I was wondering if there weren't some elements of costuming I could incorporate.

Looking at the original Jeannie costumes - as much as I'd like too... they are very plain. Too plain for belly dance bling.

Looking at this photo from a much later made for TV movie... Barbara Eden's character has definitely moved into the Belly Dancer arena for her costuming. Still - not what I was looking for in terms of inspiration.

Back to the drawing board.

Wasn't she banned from showing her belly button in the original series? I remember watching the repeats as a kid.

It would be an awesome Halloween costume - if done in her original red and pink colours.
