I feel overwhelmed with school.

I have about 50 pages to read for class tonight and the print is small. ugh.

I have to work on this essay (ideally I'd like to hand it in Friday) because I want to have my weekend free for the hafla.

I have a midterm on Monday.

AND what I'd love to do is spend a couple hours on my sewing machine, a few halloween related items, and then do some of my favorite bellydance videos, and after that I should make a list of all the tapes and DVD's I own and probably write reviews on them all.

The TV spot finally aired yest. It was supposed to be on Monday. It was okay. I know I smiled a lot but all the clips where you can see me... I'm not smiling. I have a deep look of concentration.

I'm tired. too many late nights and early mornings.

MUST STAY OUT OF THE HALLOWEEN CHOCOLATE.

No I don't mind at all,

I'm an intermediate level dancer. In an area where teacher resources are fairly limited and we don't see big gatherings like Rakassah. I think my list is going to be too beginner-ish for you.

excerpt from an old post of mine...

I have

-Rachel Brice's Yoga and Isolations - I love it but I find some of the yoga in it challenging - I finally learned undulations with this video after having my instructor explain it over and over and over. It finally clicked for me with this DVD.

-Kathy Smith's flex appeal - fab costuming, decent workout too.

-4 of the Rania videos which I hate, I don't feel she does an adequate job explaining all of the moves and if you don't get the 'one' move you don't "get" the choreography. Too bad I didn't buy them individually, but as a set. (these are dust collectors because I haven't even watched all of them)

several of the Veena &Neena ones which I personally quite like.
-basics,
-abs&arms, hips &buns (I do this one all the time, its quick, 30 min, no challenge and I don't have to think. It gets me up and off the couch if nothing else...ya'know...)
-mystic dances... this one I'm stuck at because I need to learn spins and they make me dizzy if I practice too long. but I need to practice, but it makes me dizzy... not a great video over all but it's okay.
-slimdown - BAD this one is neither a good work out nor a good dance video.

recent additions
I have Suhalia's Buns, I wish I could figure out how to isolate my glutes like she does. Decent work out. but...this one tends to leave me frustrated.

and Jilliana Vol 1. - which because it is a choreography (my personal nemesis)... I've watched it once. I keep telling myself I WILL learn a choreography. I WILL.

FatChanceBellyDance. ... The Art of Bellydance Kit.
I LOVE the CD that came with this. The DVD has some stuff I like and other stuff that ugh. but I don't think I've watched it all the way through. LOVE LOVE LOVE the CD though. worth it just for that. and the cheapie zills.

I own ... a few performance DVD's and American Bellydancer (the documentary.)

I also borrow from my instructor now and then. Another great reason to make a list, I think, - so that you can exchange with other dancers you know and get a taste of something before investing in them.

I have a long wishlist too. but... I won't buy any more until I'm back to practicing at least two hours a week OUTSIDE of class time.

Which one did you buy? and how long have you been interested in Bellydance? Do you take lessons too?
