I'm trying to find music for these public appearances that my group dances at.

Stuff that the general public knows, loves and claps along with... but short bits.  I was hoping for a short medley of rock songs, Elvis, Queen, you know... stuff.  That will catch their attention so that they'll be willing to listen to authentic stuff too.

Do you know how many songs you get if you type "medley" into eMusic?

I'm on page 36 of 300. I'm finding some interesting stuff - including Arabic Medley etc...

I wish I could figure out a way to narrow it down but I more or less have to sort through page by page.  And then a 20 minute medley won't do it either.  I want max 5 minutes of ...

Pretty Woman, We will Rock You, Shake it up Baby ... that kind of thing... oh well - may have to make my own.

PERFECT SONG!

Elvis - Shake Rattle & Roll!   I can even picture the choreo already.  The ladies & the audience should LOVE IT!

How about something Motown, or Stevie Wonder? Everyone loves Stevie Wonder.

I'm open to the idea - do you have any specific suggestions - because I don't see anything (from his list of top 10 hits) I think would work with Stevie Wonder.

that was cute- except the zombie imitation.

Have you been trolling the youtube bellydance vids? you found that far too fast.

I've got a Hakim/James Brown CD around here somewhere - I wonder if it has anything useful - doubt it - but I can listen to it again.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Aaaaaaaa. I don't think I have the attention span for more than... 10, maybe! I already did a search for something a couple weeks back. Got burnt out after listening to about fifty songs.

I know a dancer from Chicago who made a neat "Miserlou" medley and danced to that. (Kimahri...she was at the Great Lakes BD Convention) If you were to end it with Black Eyed Peas' "Pump It," that would make the tune pretty recognizable.
