I am so far behind with this performance for October 24th.
I had cut out the fabric for the pants & a plan in place for the rest of the costume. Sat down to sew them up on the weekend. The sewing machine hates the fabric - but even worse - they look like cr@p on. absolutely horrid. full of puckers and yuck.
Went to the fabric store - can't find a replacement.
So.... I need to scrap that idea and come up with something different - but I can't decide what direction I want to go with it.........
Also- I've been improvising to the song - but don't actually have anything planned as far as choreography..
I have never been so behind with so little time to work on something this big.
So - Wednesday (my day off) by 5 pm! I'm going to have a FIRM decision made on costuming! AND will have notes on the choreo. ABSOLUTELY!

Date: 2009-10-06 05:26 am (UTC)I had a helluva time with choreography for that supposed August performance (that I cancelled on). I can't for the life of me fathom why it was so difficult for me this year when three years ago I snapped out three songs' worth of choreo in three weeks. I think I was just stuck.
At least you're very good at committing to deadlines and doing what needs to be done on time, so good for you! Let us know what you come up with. :)

Date: 2009-10-07 12:42 pm (UTC)my first thought was this lilac fabric for pants with a black lace over skirt with a mix of the lilac & lace for a halter style top.
but the lilac fabric is HORRID apart from the fantastic colour.
Thought 2- pinstripe pants and a vest, flower at the lapel, maybe a fedora? - sort of like a gangster look (I know Jimmy Hoffa=70's) but I was thinking sort of a business man kind of look which then took me to the 30's gangster feel? Biggest problem here - another one off costume that I won't be able to wear again.
So - every fabric that I picked up at the store was either the same colour I wore last year or ... more red! so... back to the drawing board...
somehow I need to come up with an easy quick idea!!!! suggestions welcome! looking for a vague tribal/tribal fusion feel.
