I've decide I hate my hair (again) and rather than cut it....
I'm thinking about colouring it.
with henna.
I'd like something in a red/burgundy shade.
anyone? any experience with henna?

Date: 2010-03-08 01:07 pm (UTC)I was just thinking that henna is supposed to be a longer more gradual fade - less chance of 'roots' as well as being good for thickening and conditioning too so maybe it might be worth a shot.
time - I've got.

Date: 2010-03-09 08:01 pm (UTC)I tried a sunless tanner by Jergens - I'm not a big fan - I general cultivate the glow in the dark Caspar look. Hence another reason to push for the redhead look it will go with my beyond fish belly white skin.
Let me know if you like this sunless tanner. I just have so much that would need to be covered... arms, back, neck, belly, FACE - why bother.
Who did you order the caftan from?

tormenting you is a side benefit.

Date: 2010-03-08 03:51 pm (UTC)Now with that out of the way...
I used to colour my hair with henna. It is a messy procress and does take a few days (Mix it, let it sit until the dye has released, put it in, let it sit, rinse it out....and rinse it out....and rinse it out again...) but the effects can be worth it.
I personally have alot of ash tones in my hair, so doing henna is not an option because it adds red tones, which really washes me out. Henna for hair does have a section on what to ADD to your henna mix to get the colour you want, as well as other people's recipies.
Just keep in mind, what you see when you rinse it out is NOT what you are going to end up with. The henna dye needs at least a week to saturate and settle, and eventually it will darken.
