new purchase

because the silver set I bought in April still isn't ready for professional gigs...

it leaves me wearing the gold coin costume over and over.  So I gave in and bought this beauty off the swap meet.

I really hope it fits as I've been having no luck on the buying on the internet lately.

also - here's our group before the parade the other day.........

that's me in the sunglasses, bright pink sleeves and blue skirt on the end.

I hope it fits, it's lovely! I know the trepidation with buying on-line, that's one reason I haven't bought a 'real' costume yet. The one local place doesn't have a good track record of their stuff holding up more than a dance (maybe two).

Dahlal's shop is only 4 hours away from where I live... if I can ever justify a costume that expensive (which is doubtful, as this is just a hobby for me!) I would definitely go there.

Yeah, so it's a day trip. A long day trip, but... Last time some friends stopped when they went to a workshop in St. Louis, as they were there anyway.

I think it'll be awhile before I can even justify $100 on an outfit, and you don't find many good ones that cheap! Plus, NONE of those belts will ever fit me, unless they are custom-made. My waist/hip ratio is just was to wacky. The curse of the bubbly butt. :(
