"The Shamrock was the first registered car company in Canada. This is the oldest car in the museum. The Mimna brothers, two stonemasons from Wardsville, Ontario, built the car in 1893. It cannot exceed 10 mph and has a homemade engine of clutches and belts, it also has a single cylinder engine. In 1910 improvements were made such as air in the tires and the addition of a steering wheel. By the time the Mimna brothers had perfected their automobile, Henry Ford was already mass producing his own vehicle. the Mimnas went back to stonemasonry and the vehicle was abandoned. This vehicle is still in working order. There is rumoured to have been a second Shamrock built in 1914 but it is said to have crashed on its first outing."
