hahaha. no really.
I'm always on the look out for a good song that I can use in general public performances. Outdoor shows mostly that will draw the average audience in and tell them that bellydance is not just music they don't recognize. Just put in one song that they recognize and the audience relaxes, smiles, claps along and joins in a lot more than if you only play stuff they'll never recognize unless they are into bellydance themselves.
Last summer I did the choreo to Shake Rattle and Roll and it got a really good reception.
sacramentalist suggested our next number should be Motown and I've been really trying to find something.
I think Aretha Franklin's Respect might be the right choice.
what do you think? other suggestions?
head's up - "Jerry Lee Lewis - Whole lot a shaking going on" was not appropriate. - or at least not the version I got.
