colour choice? AGAIN??

yes it's me.  the colour challenged.

I've decided to order myself an L.Rose trumpet skirt/set for my xmas present.  I've wanted one for a long time.  I tried to make one but without a pattern... I just kind of winged it.  It did turn out okay but...

Any way.  I want one.  And I'm ordering it.  I've decided on luxury velvet.

Now I just have to make a colour choice!

I had thought to order it in black.  Black is good, excellent mix & match qualities... It has cross over potential if my style ends up ultimately being more tribal.  But then I start thinking... black is easy to get too.  I could just make my own black using this one as a pattern - right?

So then I start hmmming & hawwing ... burgundy? red? straw gold? amethyst?  black?

Want to make a choice for me? I hate being indecisive.  I just want to place the order and urge quick shipping vibes on it.

I have a gold coin bra & belt set.  I have a red satin bra & belt set as pictured above, I have ...uh.... black tribal style bra & belt.  I have... a dark purple panne velvet set ... but... not what I would consider pairing with my new 'whatever'  I don't know if I can wear silver or not....

That's a tough call.

My inclination would be to get it in black....if you think you'll get the most use out of that color, why not have your black one be of the highest quality? Make sure to get the matching arm goodies and headband, too. :)

Otherwise, I'd say go for red. I like red. :)

The trumpet skirt from that pattern is a pretty close approximation of the L. Rose ones. I recently made one out of red luxury velvet. I'll post pics after I add the waistband.

Just make sure you cut out a smaller size, since the pattern isn't made for stretch fabrics. I cut out the smallest size (size 10), and still had to take both skirt designs in by a few inches. I didn't add a separate piece for the waistband, like the pattern calls for either. I had to lengthen the pattern anyway, so I just added enough so I can just fold the top over to make a casing for the elastic.

I was going to add the gauntlet style gloves and a banded dance bra. Headbands never work out for me. Although...those long chiffon drapes from a banded cuff... are very tempting..

I'll swing by & check out that pattern. (and while I'm there - fabric) maybe it will help me with my decision. *thanks*
