I had to remember/figure out how to solve for x  with fractions today.  simple math... but .......could not remember how to do this.

I watched about 10 seconds of a Youtube video and figured it out.

I was even approximately right in my answer.

see how you do...

Aiyanna bought 1.6 Kg of  a certain type of candy.  If ten pieces of candy weighs 77 g  (or .077 Kg)  how many pieces of candy does she have?

If she has 200 treat bags how many pieces of candy should she put in each bag?  Will she have enough candy?  Assuming each bag already contains 2 lollipops & two fruit chews... should she buy more candy or more treat bags or is she good?

Do you have 207 pieces of candy?

I'm not exactly sure. I have 8 pieces left over...
either
-my math was slightly off...
-there were only 199 bags
-or I skipped a bag & one kid will get shorted a piece of candy.

I'm actually thinking there were 199 bags because I had extra labels also ...

You should have gotten 207.79 pieces of candy (probably round up to 208...) and if you put 1 piece in each bag you'd have 8 pieces left over.

I is an engineer. Math is my forte... :D

If you ever have any statistics questions....

additional information

according to my receipt I paid for 1.555 kg of candy.
weight on my kitchen scale this morning 1.61 kg
also the same scale which gave me 10 = 77 g.

I figured it out at 209 but then I think I was using the 1.61

I was just really happy that I bought just enough candy without buying WAY too much...

Yeah, if you use 1.61 it gives you 209.09 (I don't know why I include the two decimal places, habit!).

You should see my equation for figuring out how much ribbon I'd need to make a ribbon/beaded hip scarf... :D

I'd say you did an awesome estimating job and should reward yourself with, oh, 8 pieces of candy... ;)

I can imagine. I had a very exasperating experience trying to do the measurements for a tiered skirt.

and then having to RECONFIGURE it all because I found a HOLE in the fabric!!!! frustration! ....

I can't remember if I might have already started cutting at that point or not...or still in the marking stage....
