Silk Veils

I've decided to graduate to a silk veil.

I've only worked with chiffon & polyester blends in the past. too much static with my hair.

Do I want a rectangle or a half circle?

How long should it be? - I find the 3yd chiffon -too long for my 5'5" height - but the 2 yd seems kinda short for some moves. I don't want to alter it but I will if I must.

Suggestions for vendors also welcome. Thanks.

Doesn't it depend what you want to do with it? Some moves work better with a half circle - like a teacher who could spin it with one arm to look like a full circle. Or the other hand, I've hated being in classes where you were supposed to slip your veil and pick up the opposite corners from those you'd been holding - that requires a rectangle.

Do you have any favourite or signature moves with a veil?

since I've seen 1/2 circle but don't know ANY moves with them at all... I am going to stick with rectangle. (which I've now ordered from Dahlal.)

I found a pattern on Shira's site for a half circle so I may try making one with available fabric and see what I think before ordering.

but for now I will just play with the rectangle as soon as it arrives.

I looked at your link and it looks lovely.

I think rectangles are better too. My half circle veil is even more annoying because it has sequins around the edge of one side, so in addition to the whole top and bottom thing, it also has a frontside and backside.
