Mar. 6th, 2007 10:58 amI should be writing this cursed paper.
instead I am cursing my body - trying to understand why I am having a period when it is close to a week and a half early.
waffling over whether I should see my GP.
-
dammit. write the paper then worry about the rest.

Date: 2007-03-07 01:58 am (UTC)I'm due shortly... May? I think?
not that I wouldn't like to have the works removed anyway... I certainly don't intend using them.
no doubt I've missed a pill I thought I took and have breakthrough spotting. AFTER I get the paper done& handed in I will call.

Date: 2007-03-07 02:48 pm (UTC)My physical is due in MAY.
I'm going to feel so stupid if he just says... well I'll examine you in May and in the meantime.. you probably just missed a pill ...
...
as for how the pill works
you are supposed to take the pill everyday at the same time everyday. But if you miss one - or are several hours late sometimes your body isn't getting its regular estrogen dose and says.. 'oh.. must be time for my period'

Date: 2007-03-07 10:48 pm (UTC)Sorry. I don't buy just missing one. I don't care what form of BC you are taking. It's not normal. Even more so after the problems you had last year which is all too familiar to me. Push for answers and for a thorough exam. Okay? Do it just to make get me off your tail, if for nothing else. And don't try avoiding mentioning it again. Otherwise you'll have to 'unfriend' me as I'll ask about it on every post you make.
There are some things that you just don't toy with. This is one.

Date: 2007-03-07 11:00 pm (UTC)Bullshit. There is no reason to to feel stupid. You have something going on and you need answers. You are a strong woman, don't back down from anyone! It's your body and you know it better than anyone. You would not have mentioned this had it not seemed abnormal to you.
PS: Heavy periods and clotting are very significant signs of something awry, even more so for women who are on the pill. You need to know why your patterns are changing. It could be something as simple as you missed a pill, (though I doubt that) - or that maybe your body is entering a menopause phase. I wouldn't know how all that works as I've not had a period in twenty years, so I'm somewhat removed from how that works - other than what I've heard others relay.

Date: 2007-03-08 01:31 pm (UTC)It is the only reason.
Otherwise I would have been more than happy to leave it until May.

and there you have the beauty of socialized medicine.... I don't have to consider what will I have to pay for this visit, or what I might have to pay for any tests he might order....
to me it is just a pain in the (.) that I have to drive down to his office today, wait far less time than my previous doctor, and then see what he says about it. then do whatever tests he might want... and hope they don't conflict with the Pandora schedule. 'cause that takes precedence with me!

Date: 2007-03-08 07:57 pm (UTC)he sent me for a pregnancy test.
hahahahahahahaha
which is the reason I am delayed I had to sit around in the lab for ages...
okay.... so... extremely extremely unlikely...but for a sexually active woman of childbearing years... any abnormality in cycle... we have to start there.
then an abd ultrasound... which I need to phone and book. If there are abnormalities his office will call me. If not - I will see him in May for my physical AND we will talk about changing my birth control. Could be the hormones aren't strong enough or are too strong. I've been on the same pills now for over 20 years.
I can't wait to tell J he sent me for a preg test. Too funny.
