yes - that's right

two hundred and eighty two trick'or'treaters at our place tonight.

that's a pretty good number.

my favourite costumes were

1)a group that were dressed in Christmas theme.  They had Santa, two elves, a person dressed in a GREAT Tree Costume, A present and Gift Wrap(bubble wrap, bows & paper.)

2)Three teenagers dressed in the same colours with t-shirts & face paint  & signs that said  GO CEILINGS!

They were ceiling fans.  *groan* I know but I love bad puns. I thought the costume idea was fantastic.

LOLOL! I'm in love with the ceiling fan idea! So clever and punny!

We don't get trick or treaters in our building (snobby high rise, I guess they think we wouldn't deign lol), which is fine by me since I'm not a kid fan anyhow. But I do like hearing about people who have good Halloween experiences!

I love Halloween. I love it for the costumes & ideas. I like to see novel & home made costumes.

Yes sometimes the kids & parents are dreadful, but sometimes (like the ceiling fans) they are AWESOME.

The worst that we saw last night were the parents trick or treating with the kids riding in wagons. Your kid doesn't even walk to trick or treat? Well I don't feel bad about giving cheap candy this year then.

*Whistles* I like the Ceiling Fans idea. XD

We had exactly 27 trick-or-treaters. I kept count. There was this one little girl that was hilarious. She was so friendly. Our exchange went something like this

"Trick or treat! Guess what I am?!"
"What are you!?" (She was dressed as a witch, complete with green face paint, a broom, hat, dress/etc, black wig)
"I'm the wicked witch of the west!"
"Wow! That's so great! You make a great wicked witch of the west!"
"Thank you! I love your Doggie! I have a doggie!" (She was talking about GRADY, of all dogs, who had his head by my knee. I was crouched by the door so that he wasn't going anywhere)
"Why, thank you!" *Gives her two chocolate bars*
"Thank you! Happy Halloween!"
"Happy Halloween! Have a great night!"

Ohhh, those are good! I love the ceiling fans. *L*

Guess how many we had?

NONE. Zero. Zilch. Nada. I don't understand. I could've sworn I saw trick-or-treaters in a nearby neighborhood around 6 p.m. There must be some new agreement I don't know about that signals to kids that you have candy available. It used to be just leave your porch light on. Either that or everyone's paranoid and taking their kids to private parties. Whatever. I ain't buying candy next year. We'll just go out and turn all the lights off!
